We had an excellent cycling tour of Kinderdijk with Marco. He made all of the arrangements so all we had to do was follow his lead and enjoy the day. The windmills and surrounding area are beautiful. He even arranged for us to tour a working windmill and learn about the century-old technology behind how they function. It was a wonderful outing.

I went on a solo windmill tour in Kinderdijk with Marco, and it was honestly amazing! 🌟 He’s not only super knowledgeable about the history and engineering of the windmills, but also makes everything fun and easy to understand. Since it was just me, Marco made the tour really personal—he let me set the pace, answered all my random questions, and shared great stories that made the place come alive. I never felt rushed, just relaxed and able to really take it all in. Kinderdijk is stunning on its own, but having Marco as a guide made the experience unforgettable. If you’re visiting, I can’t recommend him enough!

One of the best tours I’ve taken in more than 12 countries. Marco under promised and over delivered which is so rare in a commercially booked App. Our adventure began with a phone call 48 hours prior to inquire if we would like to adjust accordingly to the weather. Unfortunately, it was not possible, so upon our meeting he provided us with appropriate rain attire, warm gloves and even attempted to fabricate booties for us! Every detail was measured with precision and throughout the tour Marco pivoted to customize our experience! Truly the most gracious host with a passion for his community and allowing us to seamlessly emerge ourselves into this spectacular heritage site. The visit to the interior workings of a local windmill was certainly the highlight and unexpected. We will never forget this visit thanks to Marco’s high energy hospitality. Thanks to Marco we also improved our knowledge and ability to capture light on our cameras - creating lasting memories for my daughter and I. Thank you Marco- many blessings to you and your family I hope our paths cross again!

This was so much more than just a visit to Kinderdijk! Our guide Marco was incredibly friendly and even helped us navigate the waterbus to get there. The cycling route was beautiful, taking us through the countryside with stops for tasty local pastries, a lovely lunch, and even a visit to a cheese shop. A real highlight was visiting a working windmill, meeting locals who showed us how it operates, and even getting hands-on inside! This tour offered a perfect mix of nature, culture, and authentic Dutch experiences. Highly recommended !

Marco is an excellent guide. He arranged a custom bike tour for my fiancee and I on short notice: finding e-bikes, getting them to our starting point, and guiding us skillfully from Dordrecht to Kinderdijk. Because he has lived in Kinderdijk area for many years, he was able to arrange an amazing, detailed tour of a local windmill that I will never forget.

Small group tour allowed for a more Personable touch. Nice break in the country side with some wine and snacks.

I highly recommend the trip, especially to solo travellers or smaller groups. The pace is individually adjusted, without any rush and it can take longer than the suggested time frame. There is a lot to see: the city and it's suburbs from the ferry, a beautiful countryside, canals, cows, birds and many historic windmills (one also from inside). Apart from that, there is the opportunity to eat a superb homemade apple pie at a more distant windmill with a unique, authentic atmosphere!

We weren’t able to participate in the tour due to rain and wind speeds of 41mph however this disappointment was greatly eased by Marco, the guide. He phoned us the day before to check out our cycling experience and then arranged e-bikes for us. He phoned on the morning to discuss weather. He was very flexible and he allowed us to cancel due to the bad weather. He continued to communicate brilliantly and sent us all the correspondence in relation to the refund and he phoned again a few hours later to check all was ok. Marco was very fair and his communication was outstanding. I hope he has a good season and not too much wet weather. He deserves to do well.

This fun bike tour was one of the highlights of my trip to the Netherlands. Kinderjik is a UNESCO World heritage site where you can see authentic, original, working windmills that are also homes to full time residents who maintain these national treasures. The idyllic area is full of waterways, bridges and bird life that can be viewed and photographed close up. My guide, Marco, lives in Kinderjik with his wife and children. I travelled by train, only 47 minutes from Utrecht and Marco met me at the train station. He knows the Kinderjik area well and took me to beautiful viewpoints and places that I would not have accessed on my own. He also introduced me to some of the people there including a lovely cheese farmer to sample amazing local cheeses. Marco was an attentive, patient, knowledgeable guide, sensitive to my objectives and needs, while also being respectful and aware of the people who live there and the eco systems. He is also good at photography and took some beautifully composed photos for me with my cell phone. The bikes we used are near new and a helmet was even offered too. The flat terrain and well maintained trails are easy to traverse. The tour also provided some high quality Dutch country foods and a great coffee. It was an absolutely perfect relaxing day. Considering everything included—water bus ticket, rental bike, food, admission to the area, and a personal guide it is great value for the money. I feel like I saw the real Holland and not just another tourist trap. Highly recommend (Try to get on a tour with Marco if possible).
